Becoming a female cop

I've always wanted to be a cop. Im in my twenties right now and I feel that I wont do well because of my smaller size. Im petite and I feel too thin. And I also feel that I wont get hired or get the job because of that.

Smaller stature
by: Police-officer-pages

Hi there. It seems that many women seem to have the same concerns when it comes to being a police officer. If you check out the other comments posted by other viewers, you'll see that you definitely aren't alone there.

Although you can't change your bone structure or body frame, you can put on size by doing some strength training exercises, eating adequately, and putting on some muscle.

I don't think that being smaller will necessarily prevent you from getting a job as a cop. Just make sure that you are qualified in other ways. Have a second language. Get a post secondary education. Do some voluntary work in the community. Anything that helps you become a better candidate, and improve your resume.

If you have real concerns about your lack of size, do whatever it takes to make yourself such a qualified applicant that they can't help but to disregard your smaller stature.

Good luck to you. Let us know how it goes if you decide to give it a shot.
